Sugar Free Snacks
In my quest to reduce added sugars in my diet, I have found some go-to snacks that have no added sugars of any kind.
Star Fruit Snacks
Cut a star fruit cross-wise. Put a dab of peanut butter or almond butter (no sugars added) in the center and top with a frozen blueberry.
You could also do this with banana, strawberry and apple slices. Freeze the treats for 10 minutes for a cool treat in the summer.
Guacamole and Kale Chips or Veggies
Mash up 1/2 an avocado with onion, tomato, jalapeno and spices to your liking. Serve with kale chips or raw veggies. To make kale chips, tear pieces of kale up, toss with 1 tsp olive oil, sprinkle with salt and bake at 350F for 15-17 minutes on a parchment paper lined baking sheet, being careful not to let them burn towards the end.
Flax Crackers with Cashew Cheese
I am obsessed with these "Flackers" from Doctor in the Kitchen. Made from flax seed, they are crunchy, delicious and full of nutrients. Pair them with vegan cashew cheese for a delicious snack. Treeline Treenut Cheese is a great option that comes in flavors like Chipotle Serrano and Scallion. Yum.
