Trader Joe's Favorites
Visiting different grocery stores is one of my favorite hobbies (hello free samples) and I have favorites I can only find at each store.
Today is goodies from Trader Joe's!
Let's start with coffee and treats. Instant coffee may not be my first choice (espresso, duh), but of all the instants I've tried, Trader Joe's is my favorite. And it's only 3.99, which makes me feel like a fool every time I go to Starbucks. I also recently got into their Cold Brew Coffee (1.79/can). I love a sweet treat with coffee and these Caramel Bites have been a favorite for years. BEWARE: They are addictive. Biscotti is perfect with coffee and these are chocolate and hazelnut. Yum.
The cooking oils at TJ's are high-quality and affordable. I love keeping a canola oil and coconut oil spray handy for sweet and savory cooking. To spice up my eggs, I add Salsa Authentica, a jar is only 1.79.
Soup season is here (sort of in Austin). Split pea and lentil soups are full of fiber and both have zero fat making them perfect meals for athletes.
Quick protein sources are a must if you are training athletically and these turkey meatballs are low in fat, high in protein and so quick to prepare. Pair them with a veggie for a low-carb day or add them edamame pasta for a protein boost.
Pumpkin Ravioli you captured my heart and I'm yours forever. Thank god these are a seasonal item because otherwise I'd be in danger. These are so delicious & cook in about 4 minutes. Topped with a little olive oil, parmesan and sea salt, they venture into food-gasm territory.
Okay, that's enough savory stuff. I'm obsessed with the Fudge Sauce. It is so good over frozen yogurt or Halo Top (my go-to treats). These dehydrated banana slices are crunchy and sweet, and made with no added sugars or oils. For all my baking recipes, I use the Pure Bourbon Vanilla Extract.
How pretty do these Greek yogurts look? With delicious flavors like Pomegranate and Mango, there are lots of options for 99 cents and zero fat, so a perfect recovery snack after a workout.
