Sardine & Olive Pizza

I recently discovered sardines and I'm in love. Packed with protein and omega 3s, they are a delicious addition to any pizza. They pair well with tart acidity - from the marinara, lemon zest and olives. 

Instead of using regular cheese. I used vegan cheese from Heidi Ho to lessen the dairy load. While Cali'Flour original crusts do have cheese, I like to limit the total amount of dairy I'm consuming by using vegan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cali'Flour original crust
  • 1/4-1/3 cup marinara 
  • 1 - 2 oz Heidi Ho Ne Chèvre "cheese"
  • 1 - 2 Tbs. sliced black olives
  • 1 - 2 oz. sardines 
  • Lemon zest
  • Oregano
  • Red chili flakes 

Directions

Begin by baking the crust for 5-8 minutes according to package directions. Meanwhile gather other ingredients. Remove pizza crust but keep on pan or baking stone. Let cool for a few minutes and top with marinara, cheese, sardines, olives, sprinkle with oregano and red chili flakes. Bake another 7-8 minutes until edges are crispy and cheese is gooey. Remove and let cool 5 minutes before removing to a cutting board. Zest a lemon over the top.

Cut into pieces and enjoy!
